Why perform independent verification?
• Although source manufacturers have high
standards, an independent check of the source
strength allows physicists to ultimately determine
if a source is safe and appropriate for treatment.
• AAPM TG-56, TG-40 and TRS-398 recommend
independent verification of source strength.
